Fair Travelling- (im)possible!

Every day the media bring alarming images of the global climate’s condition. In an industrialised and globalised Europe, where travelling around the world has become ordinary, one may ask him/herself how his/her personal travelling behaviour influences on the global climate. The numbers are frightening: in Europe out of about 9 tons CO2 eq. that are caused per person and year, 40% are due to transportation. While 20’000 car kilometres per year with a petrol consumption of 8l/100km cause 5 tons CO2 eq., one generates 2.5 tons CO2 eq. by taking an economy flight from Zurich to New York. Facing this big challenge, many people may think that as an individual there is nothing one can do in order to prevent climate change. But thinking like that we forget that climate protection starts in everyone’s mind.

 This workshop aims at:

  •         Showing you the use of a climate-ticket of myclimate
  •         Thinking about active ways how to travel without harming environment and

about how much CO2 may be emitted per person and year in a sustainable

                  world

Myclimate

This workshop is presented by the foundation myclimate. Myclimate enables innovative solutions in climate protection and conveys the adaption of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies. In the field of climate education myclimate communicates knowledge and understanding in climate questions.
