Microcredits

Microfinance is well known in the context of developing countries, as a means to fight against poverty. Less known is the practice of microfinance in developed countries.

The goal of this workshop is to introduce YOUth to microcredit in Switzerland. After a short historical overview of microcredit, the focus will be on the local action of the Foundation and its achievements.

Microcrédit Solidaire Suisse

Microcrédit Solidaire Suisse (originally ASECE) was founded in 1998 by Georges Aegler. Within the context of a solidarity economy, the mission of MS is to fight social exclusion of financially underprivileged people who have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to set up or develop their own small business but lack access to the traditional banking system. MS’s mission is to raise awareness of the potential of microcredit for the Swiss economy and promote it as a tool of social inclusion.
