Graduated. Now what?

What about:

  • an ETHsustainability degree programme on “water and sustainability” taught in the unique surroundings of Egypt’s Sinai desert (UNESCO world heritage)?
  • running a fair trade, eco-friendly business that sells trendy bags made out of waste and re-cycled materials by artists of South Africa’s West Coast?
  • promoting social corporate responsibility standards in the financial sector?

Graduated. Now what? shows alternatives. Make a commitment for your ideas of a fairer world with the choice of your academic studies, your internship or your job! Having chosen a certain field of study does not predetermine your career. There is a plethora of job offers and career possibilities that exist in the non-profit and social entrepreneur area.

During this workshop we offer you the possibility to get in contact with organisations specialized in the intermediation of uncommon (for now) and unique careers all over the world! In a first part you will be given a survey of the multiple occupational areas existing. You will come to know international networks of like-minded business students and professionals and you will learn where you have access to resources that help you build a meaningful career and find employers that share your values. There are plenty of programs to participate in that allow you to use your business skills for a good cause while building your résumé.

In a second part there will be a discussion with two young people who have chosen the way of an alternative career. They will share their experiences: explain what they are working on, how they found their job and why it is so much more rewarding than an ordinary job. They will be able to give you personal advices how to start becoming active in a non-profit and social entrepreneur area.   Take the chance and catch up on the incredibly diverse and amazing chances you have to set an example with your choice of employment!
