Intercultural Learning
You are about to embark on a intercultural journey that will allow you not only to learn more about intercultural learning but also in the process of doing so, about your own culture of origin. During your short stay with us you will be exposed to other values, habits, rituals and living environments. Conversely, we, your hosts will also be exposed to your own values, habits, rituals and living conditions.
Our aim is to raise your awareness to the process of intercultural learning and in this way to motivate you to reflect upon the relevance of this concept. Intercultural learning can be one tool in our efforts to understand the complexity of today's world, by understanding others and ourselves a bit better.
Moreover, it can be one of the keys to open the doors into a new society. Raising your awareness to see yourselves as “cultural beings” will hopefully help you to be equipped with the senses to better face the challenges of current realities. Intercultural learning is a personal growing process with collective implications. Not just taken as a personal acquisition or a luxury for a few people working In an international environment, intercultural learning is relevant for how we live together in our societies.
Last but not least, we will present you in this workshop possible ways offered by the members of INTERMUNDO and by the European Program YOUTH IN ACTION to deepen your intercultural experience and to go on learning about yourselves. We are looking forward to grow together with you!
INTERMUNDO is the Swiss umbrella organization for the promotion of youth exchanges. Its 13 member organizations are all non-profits and offer a large range of programmes all across the planet for young people (12 years and up).
