Urban Mobility

Human activity is increasing on earth and beyond due to new technical facilities and the needs of the human population. As a result more natural ressources are used and sometimes wasted. The state of the world doesn’t make us optimistic about the future ; Global warming, difficulties to access to water, disappearance of animal species,… all these issues concern us. The awareness of big problems to come has already led many people to react. What can we do today to contribute to this effort?

This workshop on urban mobility aims to outline the ecological situation in european cities and present some ways to improve it. The reason for talking about cities is the fact that a lot of young people live there because schools, jobs and leisure activities are usually located in these areas.

In order to introduce the question of ecology in cities in relation to transport, we invited the association ATE (Transport and Environment Association) to make a speech. Following this speech and the discussion, a presentation of the association Lausanne Roule will take place. It will show what they do to solve a bit of the problem and will explain how the association was grounded to give us an idea of what young people can do.

If you want to get another point of view about the environment you live in and learn about easy techniques to change your mode of transportation, take part in this workshop!

Organized in collaboration with:
