A young, fun and educational project, STEP into action offers youngsters (16-19) the opportunity to explore their responsibilities as global citizens during an interactive and playful track. The event also offers them an occasion to rethink their role in society by taking action in their local environment.

Thought by young people, the event is managed by students who would have liked to get more informations when they were in school. During the day, 500 young people will participate with their classes to this event, which will explore and present global challenges in a fun way, showing different opportunities to become active.

Every participant chooses a topic (environment, human rights, migration, cooperation, health) and follows a pathway with three milestones:

  • Awareness : briefing, workshops.
  • Reflection:  involvement of the young participants, roundtables, creative activity.
  • Action: Concrete possibilities of action at the involvement platform.

Inspired and informed, the young people go home  with a mine of information on how they can become active and the motivation to start acting fast.

The first STEP into Action took place in Basel in February 2011. Next edition will be held in Geneva in November 2012.

Do you want to help organize the STEP into action 2012 in Geneva and try to motivate hundreds of young people?
